How to make Alt Printscreen work in Ubuntu

There is an issue with Ubuntu 10.10 due to which Alt+PrintScreen does not work as expected. Following is the workaround.

Open /etc/sysctl.conf as root:
sudo gedit /etc/sysctl.conf 

Then add this line to it:
kernel.sysrq=0
